Blood & Breath Tests

When a person is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they will be asked to take a blood or breath test. Blood and breath tests are scientifically accurate ways of determining a person’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and the results of these tests can be used as evidence to prove guilt for DUI. If you have taken a blood or breath tests after being stopped under suspicion for drunk driving, and the test showed your BAC to be .08 percent or higher, you should immediately speak with Arapahoe County DUI defense lawyer Chris Cessna.

  • Blood Tests - Blood tests analyze a person’s blood to find the amount of alcohol present. There are many ways a blood test result can be inaccurate, so if a blood test has shown your BAC to be .08 or higher, there may still be hope for you. Improper sample storage and certain health conditions have both been known to cause BAC that are inflated, and Arapahoe DUI lawyer will investigate to find out if either of these led to a false BAC in your DUI case.
  • Breath Tests - Breath tests are given using a breathalyzer, and these machines have been known to produce inaccurate results when the machines aren’t calibrated or maintained properly. Certain environmental conditions or medical conditions can also affect the outcome of these tests, and attorney Cessna will examine the circumstances in these situations to find out what could be responsible for an inaccurate BAC in your DUI case.

Attorney Cessna has spoken with many clients who feel like their cases are hopeless because a blood or breath test revealed that they were over the legal limit. Individuals in these situations should know that even though blood & breath tests are accurate ways of determining BAC, they are not always 100% accurate. There can be many discrepancies in testing methods and testing equipment that can lead to false or inaccurate BAC results, and Arapahoe DUI defense lawyer Chris Cessna will carefully examine your blood or breath test to find any indication of false results.
